So, make sure of the reason you would be buying an old, broken head. Old heads can be salvaged for only some small parts. Once a printhead is removed from the printer, if it is not properly drained, flushed, dried and lubricated, it will NOT survive. We would strongly CAUTION YOU not to buy in hopes of "fixing" the printhead. WARNING: Sometimes we see "old, broken, not working Printheads being sold on eBay. NOTE: White ink printheads are different than the CMYK printheads. Perhaps one of our InkJetPrintables Printhead Flush Kits is all that is needed. Make sure you need a new printhead before purchasing. These genuine Brother printheads may NOT be returned. A clogged ink needle has proven to be the cause of many print quality issues that are mistakenly blamed on a clogged or "bad" head.
If you have old style tubes, consider replacing them (see description of our Brother GT-541 Ink Tube Conversion Kit for more info):ATTENTION: While changing the ink tube, we recommend to also pay extra attention to cleaning the ink needle. Depending on the year of your printer, you should get one of the following Ink Supply Tubes with the head.
An alternate to buying a new tube, would be to use an InkJetPrintables GT Ink Tube Flush Kit to completely clean the original tube. The reason is, if there is coagulated ink in the supply tube, it will immediately clog the new head.
